TARIN
Welcome to the home page of the internationally recognized film and television actress Tere Tarin. Living in Los Angeles, but having been raised in the city of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, she is often credited as Tere Lopez-Tarin. Tere’s passion for performance was first demonstrated at the age of two as she emulated television singers. Encouraged by her family to pursue diverse training in the arts from voice to judo, her die was cast after convincing her brother to give her the lead role in his movie when she was a child. Later, the formal nature of her initial training frustrated Tere, so she immersed herself in the disciplined Kabuki theatre schools of Japan.

Upon her return from Japan, Tere found several opportunities to act in Europe and the US. After having narrowly missed the opportunity to play the lead role of Elena in THE MASK OF ZORRO, she went on to play the lead of Maria in the Mexico-Spain period film, AVE MARIA. From there, she was recruited to the states and her career has not looked back. Having now acted next to Sir Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, Sir Richard Harris, among others, few have had the opportunity to showcase their talents as Tere has. She welcomes you to discover more about her career and hopes that you click with her.
The versatile Tere Tarin possesses a master-class  range of acting abilities.  As Maria Ines in AVE MARIA, this stunning actress portrays both a privileged aristocrat who speaks out of turn and acts in a brazen fashion and also the saintly Maria who cures Indians of small pox and battles the conquistadors. She performs her dynamic role sedately and through her stoic behavior the viewer is allowed to feel the intensity of her turmoil.   In THE STRANGERS SUITE, Ms. Tarin plays a writer, Liuba , a refugee of war who is accused of being a spy. The role spans ten years of Liuba's life from the age of eighteen to twenty-eight. Tere's delivery of the two roles transforms the audience's perception of Tere from a young, naive and vulnerable 18 year old into a woman who has been visibly hardened by her experiences of the last 10 years and shunned by a country she is struggling to call home.
